About Helka Ceramics

Helka Ceramics is a pottery studio located in the heart of Graefekiez in Berlin-Kreuzberg, and the creative home of ceramic artist Lisa Kosak. Founded as an independent ceramics label, the studio serves not only as Lisa’s personal production space but also as a workshop offering pottery classes for beginners and more advanced students, as well as a membership studio and event space.

At the core of Helka Ceramics is Lisa’s handmade tableware and utilitarian objects—modern, timeless pieces designed to elevate your daily routines. Produced in small batches in her Berlin pottery studio, each item reflects the care, time, and craftsmanship poured into the making process. Whether it’s a plate, coffee cup, soap dish, or vase, every piece is a celebration of thoughtful design and the tactile slowness of working with clay.

Drawing inspiration from her daily life, Lisa’s forms and color palettes go from quiet and elegant timelessness to more playful and striking contrasts. Pieces thrown on the potter’s wheel are at the heart of her practice, punctuated by some handbuilt pieces using slabs or coiling, but always preserving the unique character of handmade pottery.

In addition to creating her own collections, the studio loves working on commissions for restaurants, cafés, private collectors, guest houses, and hotels. Helka Ceramics is also a welcoming space for learning and creative exchange. Through regular pottery workshops, private events, and team-building sessions, Lisa introduces others to the joy of clay—helping participants discover their own rhythm and voice in ceramics.

In 2024, Lisa co-founded the Ceramic Salon initiative with Marten H. Anderson—a series of informal studio gatherings and exhibitions promoting collaboration and dialogue among Berlin’s ceramic community. Their first group exhibition, FORMED, launched in June 2025 and showcased 23 Berlin-based artists and designers working in ceramics.
