Tableware course ✺ Summer special

€245.00

Summer is always busy, you might be leaving the city and so will I! To make up for it, we’ve come up with a short & sweet course to learn the foundations of working with clay at the potter’s wheel over a 2-week beginners throwing course. The course will cover how to throw, trim and glaze tableware pieces in the cosy atmosphere of our studio. PS: if you can’t make it to the glazing session (day 3), you can easily join another one that fits your schedule better to glaze your pottery.

Dates:

✺ July 7, 8, 16 - 19:00 - 22:00

✺ July 28, 29, August 6 - 19:00 - 22:00

✺ August 4, 5, 13 - 19:00 - 22:00

✺ August 18, 19, 27 - 19:00 - 22:00

✺ Day 1: with a strong focus on technique, you will learn how to prepare and centre clay and create vessels on the potter’s wheel. Play and experiment freely under our guidance to make cups, bowls, small plates or whatever your heart desires.

✺ Day 2: the following day, your pieces will have dried to a leather-hard texture, and we will refine their silhouette, remove the excess clay from the base and show you how to add texture and make attachments such as handles.

✺Day 3: learn the basics of glazing and decorate your pieces with techniques such as brushing, pouring and dipping.

Your pieces will be ready to be picked up during our opening hours ca. 3-4 weeks after the last session of the course.

The price of the workshop includes all material and firing fees. All classes are taught in English. You don’t need to have any pottery experience to attend this course, but it might be useful as a refresher course for those who have dabbled at the wheel in the past.

Aprons are available, but please wear suitable clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting covered in clay.

DISCLAIMER

By booking any course, you agree with all of the studio terms and conditions below:

  1. By taking part in our classes, all participants must ensure they have private liability insurance.

  2. The potter’s wheels we use at the studio have a strong magnet that can interfere with the proper functioning of pacemakers and may be harmful. Please consult a physician before attending our classes.

  3. During the course, the instructions of the teachers must be followed.

  4. Our courses are designed for adults (18+).

  5. As we are a small business, please consider your course booking carefully before purchasing. We understand life does not always go to plan though, and classes and workshops can be refunded or postponed if we are notified by email up to 10 days before the first session. Due to the limited capacity of our classes, please note that we cannot accommodate students making up missed classes at other times, nor can we offer refunds for missed classes or late cancellations. Refunds may take up to 30 days to be processed by our different payment platforms.

  6. Please note that there is often a dog present at the studio. Let us know in advance if you have allergies or are afraid of dogs so we can arrange for Lotta to be absent during your class 🙂
